KODIAK NETWORKS AND SS8 PARTNER TO DELIVER COMPREHENSIVE CALEA COMPLIANCE SOLUTION FOR WIRELESS CARRIERS
SAN RAMON, CA – July 25, 2006 – Kodiak Networks, the leading provider of advanced wireless voice systems, today announced that is has partnered with SS8 Networks to offer a comprehensive solution designed to comply with the Communications Assistance to Law Enforcement Act (CALEA). CALEA enables law enforcement agencies with court authorization and required electronic interfaces to intercept wireless communications used by suspected criminals, as well as subpoena calling records.
The increased penetration of group-oriented wireless voice applications, including Push-to-Talk (PTT), has created a new challenge for law enforcement agencies as call records need to be separated and analyzed for each caller suspected of criminal activity. The solution being offered leverages SS8 network functionality and extends the CALEA compliance capabilities already resident in the Kodiak Real-time Exchange™ (RTX) System.
