KODIAK NETWORKS AND LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES ACCELERATE DEPLOYMENT OF IMS-BASED PUSH-TO-TALK (PTT) SOLUTIONS

Companies Collaborate on the Development of OMA/PoC-based Push-to-Talk (PTT) for 3G IMS Networks

SAN RAMON, CA and MURRAY HILL, NJ – June 7, 2005 – Kodiak Networks and Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) today announced a global reseller agreement to accelerate the deployment of OMA/PoC-based Push-to-Talk (PTT) solutions for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)-based networks.  The two companies also will work together to deliver integrated solutions to support the delivery of voice over IP (VoIP) and new “blended lifestyle” services across a variety of network types.

Under the agreement, Lucent will resell Kodiak’s PTT solution for third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 and UMTS networks. The companies will collaborate on system integration, interoperability testing, joint marketing, training and support of Kodiak’s full product portfolio, including the Kodiak Real-Time Exchange™ (RTX) System and advanced voice service (AVS) applications.  Kodiak is seamlessly integrating its RTX system − which is designed to comply with Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) interoperability standards established by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) − with Lucent’s IMS solution.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with Kodiak to deliver IMS-based PTT solutions to operators around the world,” said J.J. Lhospital, vice president for Applications Solutions product management with Lucent’s Network Solutions Group. “Kodiak offers comprehensive, IMS-capable services that can be offered across a variety of 3G mobile, WiFi, and wireline networks, and can be integrated with a wide variety of voice, data and video services, making them an ideal choice to further expand Lucent’s IMS solution.”

“Our relationship with Lucent enables the delivery of advanced voice service applications with IMS functionality in a 3G network environment,” said Timothy Hall, vice president of Strategic Alliances, Kodiak Networks. “Lucent’s IMS expertise, CDMA leadership and growing UMTS customer base make them an excellent partner to help deploy these premium voice services applications to operators worldwide.”
