Kodiak Networks of the United States is discussing with Nigerian digital mobile operators to introduce a technology that would considerably remove the high incidence of network congestion in the country.
President and Chief Executive of the organisation, Mr. Craig Farrill, who said this in an online chat with our correspondent, said with the suite of solutions from Kodiak, operators and subscribers could have a richer experience on both mobile GSM and CDMA networks.
One of such solutions is the Instant Availability application that combines highly reliable, real-time availability updates with the most competitive advanced voice solution.
Farrill said call attempts to respondents that are not available on the other side results in considerable network congestion. But with this service, a subscriber could determine whether their contacts are available for a call or not before trying to establish any call.
He said the suite of solutions from the company is very relevant for Africa’s communication’s needs and informed its move to establish a lasting relationship with operators in the region.
“There is a pent-up demand for instant, group communications in this region among enterprise companies, small businesses and consumers. The Kodiak solution allows operators to meet this demand with a wide variety of handsets that can be offered with pre-paid service options. About 98 per cent of cellular service in this region is currently pre-paid versus post-paid,” he said.
Moreover, analogue two-way radio communications utilise a dedicated network with a limited coverage area. The Real-time Exchange system utilises the GSM network, which has a larger, national and international footprint, offering customers a greater coverage area to use their cellular phone.
“The RTX is an advanced wireless system that sets the industry benchmark for instant, feature-rich voice communications between individuals and groups,” he said.
For operators, Farrill said RTX provides wireless operators with innovative, revenue-generating, churn-reducing services, which help bring the subscriber community together.
The Voice Bridge is a breakthrough instant group conferencing application that allows fast and easy setup of two-way, full-duplex, mobile conference calls with up to 30 wireless and landline participants. This instant, easy-to-use group conferencing application offers a flexible and intuitive interface for conference call leadership, participation.
“With Voice Bridge feature, subscribers can set up conference calls immediately from their phone without obtaining or distributing any special numbers or Personal Identification Numbers. With an originator other wireless and landline call participants could be invited to join the Voice Bridge,” Farrill explained.
